Our Story
Growing up Dominican, I believed I had "pelo malo," or bad hair. Relaxing and straightening my hair was normal for me, and it wasn't until high school, when my hair became so damaged that I did the big chop, that I had to learn how to care for my natural curls on my own and find confidence in them along the way. I created ROARA because I don't want children to have to wait until they're older to learn to love their curls. I want them to grow up confident in their hair and carry that confidence with them as they grow. I also want that care to reach people who may not have access to the curly hair products they need, which is why $5 from every hoodie sold goes toward providing curly and textured hair products to homeless shelters. Whether you're a child learning to love your curls or someone going through a difficult time, we all deserve to feel beautiful and cared for.
Every Hoodie Gives Back 🧡
At ROARA, confidence goes beyond what we wear. For every hoodie purchased, we dedicate $5 toward providing curly and textured hair care products to people experiencing homelessness.
We believe everyone deserves access to products that help them care for their curls and feel confident in who they are.
Every purchase helps us bring that mission to life, one hoodie at a time.
